"What is the meaning of "conscious?
By Julia Culen

Ultimately, being conscious isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being present and aware, embracing the full spectrum of human experience with compassion and understanding.

Conscious means to be aware, intentional and accountable

“So, what does “conscious” mean to you?” This question comes up over and over again, of course. People have all kind of associations, interpretations and judgements about his word, reaching from simple explanations to quite odd esoteric thoughts. When we come up with our simple and pragmatic approach, they seem almost disappointed.

In our approach “Conscious” is nothing weird, esoteric or mystic: rather, it signifies being fully aware, awake, and accountable—taking ownership of our choices and living and working with purpose, intention, and clarity. It’s about acting with mindfulness and intentionality, rather than reacting habitually or driven by unconscious patterns. Consciousness, to us, entails paying attention and making deliberate choices—a departure from the autopilot mode of living.

But what about intuition?  Being conscious is not confined to intellectual awareness; it encompasses bodily, intuitive, and emotional intelligence. Embracing intuition enriches our consciousness, deepening our understanding and connection with ourselves and our surroundings.

We firmly believe that cultivating a higher level of consciousness is essential, especially for those with influence and power, to ensure positive impacts and avoid harm. Hence, our commitment to guiding and inspiring individuals, particularly those in influential roles, toward a deeper consciousness.

Contrary to misconceptions, being conscious isn’t synonymous with flawlessness or moral superiority. It’s about awareness and acceptance of our humanity—all its shades and complexities. We’re not immune to negative emotions or conflicts; being conscious means acknowledging and navigating them, not pretending they don’t exist.

In the realm of “conscious” communities, there’s a risk of developing a sense of superiority. We advocate for humility and empathy, recognizing that we’re all on a journey of growth and learning. Embracing our imperfections and complexities is integral to genuine consciousness, fostering understanding and connection rather than division.

Ultimately, being conscious isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being present and aware, embracing the full spectrum of human experience with compassion and understanding.

In that sense Conscious Consulting is not about imposing spiritual or ideological beliefs; it is about integrating valuable concepts into our work to empower our clients. We don’t prescribe meditation or mindfulness practices but encourage inner and outer awareness and intentionality.
